1. Who We Are

“EasyTools” (“we”, “us”) operates easytools.my and freetoolsdownload.com. We are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Personal Data Protection Act 2010 (Malaysia) and, where applicable, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

2. Data We Collect

Account data — name, email, mobile, hashed password.
Order data — purchase records, license serials, activated domains, invoice information.
Payment data — handled by Stripe / Touch ‘n Go; we store only the last 4 digits and card brand for receipt purposes.
License-check data — plugin version, PHP version, WordPress version, activated domain, request IP, timestamp. Used exclusively for license validation, abuse detection, and support.
QR & migration data — content you upload for QR generation or migration is stored only as long as required to complete the operation, plus a reasonable retention window for troubleshooting (default: 30 days).
Support communications — the emails and messages you send to support.
Web analytics — page views, referrer, browser, device (aggregated).

3. Why We Collect It

To provide, secure, and improve the services; to validate licenses and prevent piracy; to process payments; to provide customer support; to comply with legal obligations; and to send service-related email (transactional notices, security alerts). We only send marketing email to users who opt in and you may unsubscribe at any time.

4. Legal Basis (GDPR users)

Contract (to deliver purchased services), legitimate interest (fraud prevention, license enforcement, product improvement), consent (marketing email, non-essential cookies), and legal obligation (tax and accounting records).

5. Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:

Payment processors (Stripe, Touch ‘n Go);
Email delivery providers (transactional email service);
Hosting and CDN providers (data-processing agreements in place);
Law enforcement or courts when required by valid legal process.

6. Data Retention

Account and order data are retained for as long as your account is active, plus seven (7) years for tax and accounting compliance. License-check logs are retained for twelve (12) months (rolling). Uploaded QR content and migration packages are deleted per the retention window in Section 2.

7. Your Rights

You may request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data through the EasyTools Support Center. We will respond within 30 days. Certain data may be retained where a legal obligation requires it.

8. Cookies

We use essential cookies for login, cart, and session management. Non-essential analytics or marketing cookies (if any) require your consent via the cookie banner.

9. Security

We use TLS in transit, hashed passwords, encrypted license caches, principle-of-least-privilege database access, and rate-limited public endpoints. No system is 100% secure — if you believe your account has been compromised, contact the EasyTools Support Center immediately.

10. Children

Our services are not directed to children under 13 (or 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be notified by email or a Site notice.
